Potty trained...

in a day! I can't believe it! I finally decided to just do it. I have been so bad about getting him trained. With the girls, they were both out of diapers shortly after they turned two, but with Adler...I've just been lazy. I was dreading it actually. I've heard that boys are so much harder, and to be honest, I jut didn't want to deal with it. The "every 10 minute" trips to the bathroom while shopping, hearing "Mommy, I have to go" while driving down the interstate, the thought of all of those public restrooms. Yuck! I finally decided it was time, he turned three in June and if he wants to be in the big boy pre-school class, he has to be trained.

This past Monday, when he woke up, I put a pair of underwear on him and explained that big boys go potty in the toilet, not a diaper. I took him in the bathroom and he went tinkle right away! YaY Adler! The rest of the day, he went tinkle in the potty, no problem, and no accidents. I think he was excited about the "tinkle dance" that Mommy did and sticker he got every time he went. He was running in there every five minutes. So, tinkle wasn't a problem, but he still hadn't done the other. I finally told him if he did, that I would give him a tootsie roll..that was all it took..he ran in, went, and got his tootsie roll. We are now going on day four without any accidents. I am amazed, never did I think it would be this easy. I wonder if it's because I waited so long, and he's older, that he just got it. Now, Piper is interested and asks for the "tinkle dance" so...I think I'll start with her as well.

I have to admit, I LOVE the underwear, it's just so cute to see him in them..and of course, he has to have his boots on. He wears them 24/7..although I've never let him out of the house in them.

He wasn't thrilled with the idea of mommy taking pictures of his potty time..he covered his eyes and said.."you can't see me!"

Boots and "unders" as he calls them..

Every time he goes in the bathroom he screams "I need to make some privacy!"

Hooray for you and Adler!! I'm glad to hear of someone else who calls it "tinkle." We have a "tinkle dance" at our house too. It's what you see when someone has waited almost too long. Love the boots and unders.

Ha ha! Laughing out loud at the privacy thing. I wish my boys would figure that out! I'm so excited for you and Mr. Adler. My boys trained in a day, too. Hopefully Grant will be just as easy - only 3 more years of diapers. Anyhow, yay yay yay!

But you have inspired me and l think l may just give it a shot. Congrads...its a big step...love the pictures...
