I cut my baby's hair...
It was time..she is 2 1/2 and has never had her hair cut..it never seems to get any longer..just curlier. The ends were getting so fine and tangled so easily, that I decided I needed to take her in for a little trim. I was fine..didn't really think much about it..she was excited...her words.."I a big girl..pretty new hair". When it was her turn.. she got in the chair and told the stylist that she was.."a pink mermaid". She started to cry a bit when they sprayed her hair with water..which was quickly remedied with a basket of lollipops..she sat there and ate one right after another..bad mommy..I know. I was just snapping away..and then it happened..she pulled out the scissors and started to cut. I completely lost it..I was sobbing..my baby's hair..those little ends were being cut off..the hair that was on her head, the day that she was born. It was her last.."first"..we had been through all the stages..first smile..first tooth..first time crawling/walking..first words..and now her first haircut..my last baby..her last first...when we left..the stylist gave me a hug and gave me all of the little clippings..my girl looked at me and said.."Mommy, no cry..I a mermaid'..and a beautiful mermaid she was... (just snapshots..and color is all over the place, but I still love them!)

all mommies know how you feel...i feel that all that time with my son Dylan, because he is my last. Great captures. I love them and how sweet is she :)

Megan, I love all of these!!!! what conversion did you use to get that brownish tint? I love it, I've been seeing it lately, I'm getting bored of the traditional straight BW, I think it's the weather here, LOL!!!

Oh, she looks just lovely! I have such a hard time with those first haircuts! Heck, I just cut my 4 year old's and that was hard, too. The suckers are all to familiar to me. Great images!
